Introductory Summary
On this website you will find a summary of the basic gender-related issues present in today's systems
of education. Included are brief summaries of interpretive studies of these gender issues with relevant applications to the
contemporary classroom. These studies account for the historical, legal, and pedagogical contexts in which these issues developed.
Purpose
The purpose of this web page is to increase awareness of gender biases which negatively impact the educations
of America's students. Through exposition we can create an understanding of gender issues within the realm of education and
work toward ameliorating gender-related inequities present in today's schools.
